Garden produce

Check out my sweet Wallah Wallah onions!! This is only a tiny portion of them but I had to pick some today to start sharing since we use and use them but cannot seem to make a dent in the number of them remaining.

This pic is my attempt to show how BIG they are, I'm pretty sure my tomatoes are small because they are intimidated by the onions.
GO GARDEN!!

Rulon's first day at preschool

This is the face of a boy who was ready to go to school!! He had been excited for this day since before he was 3 1/2 years old. His preschool is called Wonderland Academy and his teacher (who is from near Raymond Alberta, CAN by the way) is named Elna Heap. Rulon thinks she is the very best teacher ever. Rulon is actually at the end of his 2nd week of school but these pics were from his first day.

Mads wasn't smiling quite so big when he didn't get to go to school WITH Rulon.

On day one there was an art project all ready and waiting for the kids to arrive... name mosaics.

This is Rulon's teacher getting him started as I made my exit.

A little commentary from Rulon:

Folsom Lake!!

Oh Man!! The boys were sooo excited to go in the "motor boat". Rulon and Mads could not get enough of swimming, playing on the beach, tubing, riding in the boat, and chasing the ducks.
How about this for a set up?!? It was a perfect day for the lake and Grandma and Grandpa Fairbourn had EVERYTHING we needed for a relaxing and fun day.
Look out ducks and geese!!!
Thanks to Grandpa Fairbourn for being the best boat driver in the world... the boys loved the tube rides and never even fell off!
Yup, even Julie skiied.
Mads was the perfect size to sack out in the orage tube... how nice!
The tube was just the right size for Chester to sack out on...

All in all a GREAT day!!

Sunny California State Fair

The very begining of September was FANTASTIC!! We drove to Orangevale, California to visit Julie's parents. Day one was the California State Fair!!!! It was pretty hot and so much fun. The boys loved the monorail "train", the carousel, the race cars and the kiddie helicopters.

Mmmm, big ol' state fair corn dogs. There was a teen rock band playing and Mads was literally rocking out!! Rulon joined in with his air guitar.
Waiting for the train... Rulon wanted to go on the train right away, it was awesome!!
